/01 · How we work

The person who designs a feature is also the person who deploys it and answers the support thread when it breaks. We do not throw specs over walls.

We do not hire people whose primary job is to manage handoffs between people who could just talk.

Edmund only gets better by sitting next to a maintenance technician at the end of a 12-hour shift. The product cannot be designed from a desk in Prague alone.

Expect a few trips per year to a customer site. We book the train tickets without making a fuss.

Edmund's job is to tell a maintenance engineer where its answer came from, down to the page of the PLC manual. We hold ourselves to the same bar in code review and roadmap arguments.

"I think" is fine. "I think because X" is better.

We are pre-seed and we ship every week. We also commit to customers for years. A feature that ships this quarter has to still run on a packaging line in 2029.

That tension is the job.

Our customers run plants in Czech, German, Polish, and English. So does our product UI and our weekly internal notes.

Jargon hides decisions and translates badly. One boring sentence beats three clever ones.

The challenge

Edmund's value is a cited answer to a maintenance question, drawn from PLC code, schematics, manuals, alarms, and shift logs. The GenAI layer is what makes that answer correct, fast, and grounded.

You will own that layer end-to-end: retrieval, prompt design, model routing, the evaluation harness, and the production guardrails that keep a deployed customer happy at 3 a.m. as much as on day one.

What you'll do

Own the full GenAI lifecycle: idea, research, design, code, deploy, measure, monitor.
Build the AI roadmap around real business needs and real model limits. Pragmatic, not hype-driven.
Design the evaluation harness that tells us a change shipped well, before a customer does.
Lead agent-based architecture: RAG pipelines, tool orchestration, retrieval patterns.
Mentor engineers and set the standard for production GenAI work at Edmund.

This might be for you if

You have hands-on experience leading AI/ML or GenAI work, ideally as a tech lead.
Strong Python and a solid CS foundation. Algorithms, data structures, distributed systems.
You have shipped end-to-end ML pipelines: data, model, deploy, monitoring.
You understand GenAI's real limits: evaluation, reliability, safety.
You communicate clearly and decide from data, not vibes.

Who you'll work with

Edmund is co-founded by Jakub Szlaur (CEO), Benjamin Przeczek (COO), and Miroslav Marek (CSO). All came out of years on the customer side of industrial software, including a consulting practice called Edima Solutions that gave Edmund its first plants of data. Senior AI Engineer

The challenge

Edmund runs in production at central European manufacturers. We need a senior engineer who wants to be hands-on, ship into customer environments, and solve real industrial problems, not run another lab experiment.

What you'll do

Build and deploy AI and GenAI features into production.
Build and maintain end-to-end ML/GenAI pipelines: data, model, inference, monitoring.
Work with LLMs, RAG pipelines, retrieval systems, and agent-based architectures.
Optimize inference for latency, cost, caching, and batching.
Help define evaluation strategy: test sets, metrics, guardrails.

Strong hands-on experience shipping production AI/ML or GenAI.
Strong Python and a solid CS foundation.
You build production systems, not just experiments.

The challenge

Edmund is deployed inside customer IT and OT environments. The Solution Engineer owns technical onboarding, the deployment architecture, and reliable day-two operation at the customer site.

What you'll do

Lead the technical onboarding and integration at customer sites.
Design the deployment architecture, data flows, and security model.
Communicate with technical stakeholders on the customer side.
Travel to customer sites occasionally. The rule, not the exception.
Set and improve our deployment standards over time.

This might be for you if

3+ years in Solution / Integration / Support / Customer Success Engineering in enterprise environments.
Solid grasp of SSO (Azure AD, Okta), REST APIs, networking basics (VPN, proxy, firewalls), and monitoring.
Familiarity with ERP/SAP, MES, or data warehouses.
Czech or Slovak + English at B2 minimum.

The challenge

You will help bring Edmund to new customers. The role fits someone who knows their way around manufacturing and enterprise environments and who does not mind travelling in CZ and abroad.

What you'll do

Meet customers in person and online.
Build long-term customer relationships through continuous communication.
Prepare commercial quotes.
Move deals forward through the pipeline.
Set the stage for global rollouts at multinational customers.
Log activities in HubSpot CRM.

This might be for you if

Secondary technical education at minimum.
You know your way around manufacturing and the technical world.
Strong communication in Czech and English (B2 minimum).
Ideally based in central Bohemia.
Independent, reliable, proactive, and you have a driver's licence.
